Eva Keohane (Brewerton, N.Y./Central Square) finished in second place to lead the Le Moyne College women's cross country team to a first-place finish at the Hudson Valley Invitational hosted by Post University on Saturday at the Hudson Valley Dome. Junior
Chris Davitt (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) won the men's race to lead the Dolphins to a fourth-place finish.
The Dolphins won the women's team competition with 31 points after having five of the top-11 finishers, including three of the top six. St. Thomas Aquinas College finished second with 50 points, while Adelphi University was third with 53 points. Adelphi's Amanda Ashe finished first individually in 20:40.7.
Keohane navigated the 5.37-kilometer course in 20:58.0 as Le Moyne's top finisher. Senior
Brittney Mack (Poestenkill, N.Y./Averill Park) was two spots behind with a time of 21:39.6. Sophomore
Haleigh Pascual (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) was another two spots back after registering a time of 22:42.0. Continuing the pattern, junior
Mya Walters (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) was two more spots behind and posted a time of 22:55.9. Junior
Jordan Sloan (Central Square, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) rounded out the team's scorers by placing 11th in 23:11.7.
On the men's side, St. Thomas Aquinas placed first with 47 points after having five of the top-14 finishers. Adelphi finished in second place with 63 points after three Panthers finished in the top-11. Molloy College edged the Dolphins for third place by one point with 77. The Dolphins were next after being the only team with two harriers in the top-four.
Davitt registered his third victory in five events this season by over 55 seconds with a time of 26:47.9 over the eight-kilometer course. Senior
Griffin Klein (Fair Haven, N.Y./Red Creek) finished fourth in 28:19.3. Junior
Dom Battaglia (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) was the team's third finisher with a time of 30:25.0 to place 23rd. Freshman
Ben Zinger (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) was 27th with a time of 30:43.1, while classmate
Trevor Kline (Verona, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) rounded out the team's scorers with a time of 31:05.4 to place 34th.
Following a weekend off, the Dolphins return to action at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, hosted by Franklin Pierce University, on Sunday, November 4 at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
