Women's Cross Country ranked fifth in Northeast region
Syracuse, N.Y. - The Le Moyne College Women's Cross Country is ranked fifth in the preseason Women's Cross Country Northeast Regional poll. The Dolphins open their season on Saturday at Colgate.
Le Moyne placed fifth best in the team competition in last year's Northeast Regional. Senior Christian Phelan's 19th-place finish helped bring a fifth place finish. Phelan covered the course in 24:25.2. Along with the great finishes the 2005 Dolphin's also performed in their studies. The women's cross country team compiled a team GPA of 3.27 to gain a spot among the nation's top Division II teams in the classroom.
The Dolphins will open their season this weekend at the Harry Long Invitational hosted by Colgate. Among five scheduled invitational's, Le Moyne will play host to the annual Le Moyne Invitational on September 30th. The Dolphin's finished third in last season's home event.
