WALRATH UNBEATEN, BUT WOMEN'S TENNIS OPENS SEASON 0-2
Syracuse, N.Y. - Freshman Tirzah Walrath has started the 2006 fall tennis season with two straight victories in as many matches at number one singles. The rookie has also won both doubles matches teaming up with newcomer Mirielle Artessa. The Dolphin's squad, however, has dropped both matches to 6 to 3 to RIT and Cortland.
Walrath has yet to lose a game winning 6-2, 6-2 in the Cortland match, and 6-0, 6-0 against RIT. The freshman is responsible for 2 of the 4 of Le Moyne's singles victories and has chipped in for both the team's doubles triumphs. Sabrina Megali and Virginia Togias both have one victory on the singles rank.
The Dolphin's are looking to match and improve on last year's conference quarterfinals appearance. Le Moyne continues their fall schedule on Wednesday traveling to Oneonta at 3p.m.
