Le Moyne Athletics : Nicole Murphy finishes third in 100 breaststroke, Dolphins fourth after second day at NYSWCAA

NICOLE MURPHY FINISHES THIRD IN 100 BREASTSTROKE, DOLPHINS FOURTH AFTER TWO DAYS AT NYSWCAA CHAMPIONSHIP

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Freshman Nicole Murphy (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) finished third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.38 as Le Moyne enters the final day of the NYSWCAA Championship in fourth place. Union leads the 15-team field. Preliminaries are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. with finals at 6:30 p.m. at the Nottingham High School Pool.

Many Dolphins landed top 10 finishes. Le Moyne's 200 Medley Relay team of Genevieve Suits (Jamesville, N.Y./CBA), Shelley McNamee (Owego, N.Y./Owego), Alison Lesher (Sherrill, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) and Sarah Casey (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) touched in 1:49.70 in the finals for third place. Meghan Nugent (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) touched sixth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:46.70, while Erin Rappold (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) completed that race in 4:57.17 for seventh place. Kayla Ehle 2:01.61 also picked up a seventh-place finish in the 200 free. In addition to their relay success, McNamee was sixth in the 100 breast at 1:09.45 and Casey touched in 1:02.04 for seventh in the 100 back.
