WSOC: HARRISON'S FIRST CAREER HAT TRICK CARRIES DOLPHINS PAST AIC, 4-0

Syracuse, N.Y. - Junior forward Christina Harrison (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) notched the first hat trick of her career as the Le Moyne College women's soccer team knocked off American International, 4-0, in Northeast-10 Conference play at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The Dolphins ran their record at home to 4-1-1 with the win.

Harrison's first score came seven minutes into the game when she scored off a deflection from her own shot. Just over 20 minutes later, freshman defender Jackie Coe (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) tallied her second goal of the season with a strike from about 30 yards out. Harrison crossed a ball from the middle of the field to her right to pick up the assist on Coe's score.

Le Moyne held a 2-0 advantage for the majority of the second half until Harrison scored a pair of goals 10 minutes apart. At the game's 73:32 mark, junior forward Megan O'Shea (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) played a ball perfectly to Harrison. An initial shot from Harrison was saved by AIC goalkeeper Danielle Hodecker, but the junior collected the rebound and dribbled the ball into the goal. Harrison's final score came on a breakaway with about five minutes left to play. She took a ball from O'Shea, dribbled with a defender at her side and beat the keeper with a one-on-one move.

Despite being held scoreless, the Yellow Jacket offense threatened Le Moyne in both halves. In the game's 24th minute, Sarah Boornazian blasted a shot from up-close. But senior goalkeeper Amanda Abbatiello (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) secured the save. With 20 minutes to play, Cassie Ashwell's shot strayed just wide to the right of the goal. For the game, AIC outshot Le Moyne, 13-7.

Abbatiello collected five saves en route to her second shutout of the season.

With the hat trick, Harrison owns six goals in her last four games and 12 scores on the season. O'Shea's pair of assists brought her season total to seven, tops on the team.

Le Moyne (8-4-2, NE-10 5-4-2) travels to St. Anselm for a Northeast-10 Conference tilt at noon on Saturday. The Dolphins host St. Rose on Oct. 22 at 4 p.m. in their final home match-up of the regular season.
