WSOC: FLETCHER'S HAT TRICK LEADS LE MOYNE PAST PACE 5-0

Syracuse, N.Y. - Sophomore Riane Fletcher (Lisbon, N.Y./Lisbon) scored three goals and junior Megan O'Shea (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) had a goal and two assists to lead the Le Moyne College women's soccer team to a 5-0 win over Pace in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex on Wednesday.

Freshman defender Jackie Coe (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) opened the scoring just over one minute into play. After junior Molly Yaman (Homer, N.Y./Homer) collected a loose ball in the middle of the field, she passed to Coe, who scored from about 40 yards out just under the cross bar.

Fletcher tallied her first goal of the contest with 2:51 remaining in the half on a breakaway off a feed from the right side by freshman Jordan Pelc (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn).

Fletcher put the Dolphins up 3-0 just 47 seconds into the second half with a header at the near post off an assist from the right side by O'Shea. Less than nine minutes later, the duo connected again after a corner kick. Following a corner kick from the right side by junior Courtney Paddock (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker), O'Shea fed the ball to the middle of the goal box, where Fletcher kicked in her team-high tying sixth goal of the season.

The combination of Paddock and O'Shea connected in the 73rd minute for Le Moyne's fifth goal. After a feed from Paddock, O'Shea outraced the Pace defense and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper into the back of the net.

Le Moyne held a 13-12 advantage in shots, while the Setters registered a 6-5 edge in corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper Amanda Abbatiello (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) registered two saves over the first 65:28, while freshman Melissa Stevens (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) posted two saves over the final 24:32. Breanna Gault yielded four goals and recorded five saves over 68:10 for the Setters, while Monique Morey allowed one goal in playing the final 21:50 between the pipes.

Le Moyne (6-3-1, NE-10 3-3-1) returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Merrimack at 1:30 p.m.
