LE MOYNE WOMEN'S SOCCER DOWNS CALDWELL, 2-0, AT AIC SOCCER CLASSIC

Springfield, Mass. - Juniors Christina Harrison (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) and Megan O'Shea (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) each netted a goal to lead the Le Moyne College women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Caldwell on the second day of the AIC Soccer Classic on Saturday, Aug. 30.

Le Moyne got on the board at the 17:07 mark of the contest on Harrison's second goal of the season. After Caldwell was whistled for a foul, sophomore Melissa Cathcart (Syracuse, N.Y./Faith Heritage) lofted a ball in front of the goal where Harrison headed the ball in. The Dolphins rattled off an 11-1 advantage in shots in the half to take a 1-0 lead into intermission.

O'Shea, a third-team all-Northeast-10 Conference selection as a sophomore, extended the Dolphins' lead to 2-0 off a feed from freshman Danielle Gannon (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) at the 86:03 mark of the contest.

The Dolphins out-shot the Cougars 19-6 in the contest and held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks. Senior Amanda Abbatiello (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) recorded just one save to post her second consecutive shutout and the ninth of her career. Lauren Hoenig registered eight saves in net for the Cougars.

Le Moyne (2-0) returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Roberts Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
