DOLPHINS FINISH SEASON STRONG WITH 1-0 WIN OVER SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Megan O'Shea scored her ninth goal of the season and Jessica Cochol earned a shutout in her final collegiate game as the Le Moyne College women's soccer team downed Southern Connecticut State, 1-0, at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The Dolphins finish the season 9-8-1 overall and 5-8-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Owls wrap up the 2007 campaign at 7-9-2 overall and 4-9-1 in conference. This season marks the second time since 1994 that the team will finish with nine wins in a season.

In the game's 23rd minute, O'Shea turned a loose ball in the box into her ninth goal of the season. With both offenses slowed by sloppy field conditions and a steady rain, Le Moyne's defensive unit of Katelyn Moran, Courtney Paddock, Justine Ravas and Jillian Tolman turned in a gutsy performance. Jessica Cochol stopped seven shots in goal for the Dolphins to earn the shutout.
