LE MOYNE BATTLES TO 1-1 TIE WITH ST. ANSELM’S

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Le Moyne College’s women’s soccer team earned a 1-1 tie with St. Anselm’s on Alumni Day at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. Megan O’Shea scored her eighth goal of the season for the Dolphins, who sit at 8-6-1 overall and 4-6-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Hawks move to 7-7-3 on the season and 4-5-3 in conference play.

St. Anselm’s jumped out to an early advantage with a goal from Bethany Dunn at the 25-minute mark of the first half. With 26 minutes remaining in the second half, O’Shea took a pass from Meg Turley and added to her team lead in goals with the game-tying score. The Dolphins outshot the Hawks, 25-12, for the game including a 16-6 advantage in the game’s final 65 minutes.

In goal, Amanda Abbatiello collected six saves for the Dolphins. For the Hawks, Micaela Smith finished with six saves and Jacqueline Cooney stopped four shots while the pair split time between the pipes.

Le Moyne travels to St. Rose, ranked No. 8 in the most recent NSCAA/adidas National Rankings, for a Thursday match at 4 p.m. The Dolphins’ final home game of the season is Oct. 23 at 3 p.m.
