LE MOYNE BACK IN WIN COLUMN WITH 2-1 VICTORY OVER
KEAN
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Riane Fletcher and Megan O’Shea netted
first half goals as the Le Moyne College women’s soccer team
ended a four-game skid with a 2-1 non-conference victory over Kean
University at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. With eight
victories on the season, the Dolphins (8-6, 4-6 NE-10) match their
win total from the 2006 campaign. The Cougars drop to 7-4-2 on the
season and remain 3-1-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
The first half of play held all of the game’s offense as
Fletcher netted her fifth goal of the season just over two minutes
into the match. O’Shea added to her team lead in goals with
her seventh tally of 2007 on an assist from Jacki Rossi. With 13:29
remaining in the first half, the Cougars cut Le Moyne’s lead
in half on a Jennifer Behrens goal.
Jessica Cochol finished with five saves for the Dolphins, including
a diving stop that prevented a game-tying goal at the 8:44 mark.
Leandra Russo collected nine saves for the Cougars.
Le Moyne hosts Saint Anselm’s in a Northeast-10 Conference
tilt on Saturday at noon.
