DOLPHINS FALL SHORT AGAINST NO. 2 BRYANT, 4-3

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Le Moyne's women's soccer team netted three first-half goals but No. 2 Bryant rallied with two second-half scores to clip the Dolphins, 4-3, at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. Kaitlyn Brown, Christina Harrison and Jacki Rossi registered goals for Le Moyne. The Dolphins, ranked sixth in the most recent NSCAA/adidas New England Regional Rankings, fall to 4-3 in the Northeast-10 Conference and 7-3 overall. The Bulldogs, ranked first in the New England Regional Rankings and second in the National Rankings, move to 7-0-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference and 10-0-2 overall.

Bryant struck early as Stephanie Zalewski turned a rebounded shot into a goal in the game's second minute. Le Moyne's Kaitlyn Brown answered with the second goal of her rookie campaign six minutes later. The back-and-forth offensive battle saw the Bulldogs pull ahead, 2-1, on an Alex Depippo score from Tricia Spada.

The Dolphins answered with two tallies in a four-minute span midway through the first half. Christina Harrison netted the equalizer, her second goal in as many games, on an assist from Megan O'Shea. Jacki Rossi put Le Moyne ahead with a booming free-kick from 20 yards out.

Holly Tyser scored early in the second half for the Bulldogs and Tricia Spada delivered the game-winner with just over 13 minutes remaining on a Sarah Donovan shot that deflected off of the top crossbar.

In goal, Amanda Abbatiello stopped five shots for Le Moyne.

The Dolphins return travel to St. Michael's for a noon match on Saturday. They return to the Thomas. J. Niland Athletic Complex on Oct. 6 to host Merrimack at noon.
