WOMEN'S SOCCER: MERRIMACK BLANKS LE MOYNE 2-0

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.  - Sophomore Caitlin Hall and freshman Jackie Vickers scored and senior goalkeeper Caitlin Stephan made three saves as Merrimack blanked Le Moyne 2-0 in a Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer match on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field. The Warriors won their second-straight contest to improve to 10-2-1 (7-2-1 Northeast-10). Le Moyne dips to 7-5 overall and 6-5 in league action.

Merrimack opened the scoring at 18:29 when senior tri-captain Heather Carr lofted a free kick into the box, where Hall headed the ball past Dolphins' netminder Amanda Abbatiello (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) for her seventh goal of the season.

In the second half, senior Susanne Carter fed freshman Gabrielle Gramprey down the left side of the field. Gramprey crossed the ball to Vickers, who netted her team-high eighth goal of the season.

The Warriors outshot the Dolphins 24-6 and held a 12-3 edge in corner kicks. Le Moyne returns home for a 3:30 p.m. game against Roberts Wesleyan on Tuesday.
