AMANDA ABBATIELLO NAMED NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE WOMEN'S SOCCER GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK, CHRISTINA HARRISON NAMED FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Le Moyne College sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Abbatiello (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week and freshman forward Christina Harrison (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) has been named the league's top freshman for the week. Abbatiello posted two shutouts and Harrison scored in each game as Le Moyne won a pair of Northeast-10 Conference contests.
Abbatiello made 10 saves and did not allow a goal in the two games last week. She made seven stops in a 1-0 win over Pace and registered three saves in a 2-0 blanking of Assumption. Abbatiello is 4-1 with three shutouts, a 1.52 goals against average and .780 save percentage this season.
Harrison has scored in every game in which she has appeared this season. She netted the only goal in a 1-0 win over Pace and scored the first goal, 17 seconds into a 2-0 victory against Assumption. Harrison leads Le Moyne with seven goals and 16 total points in six games this season. She ranks second in the Northeast-10 Conference - tops among freshmen - for goals per game and third in points per outing.
Le Moyne (6-2, 5-2 Northeast-10), off to its best start since 2000, plays at Bryant on Tuesday at 3 p.m. The Dolphins return home Saturday for a noon tilt against Saint Michael's.
