WOMEN’S SOCCER: LE MOYNE SHUTS OUT PACE, HARRISON SCORES ONLY GOAL
Syracuse, N.Y. – Le
Moyne College freshman Christina Harrison (Jamesville,
N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) scored in the 63rd minute to
propel the Dolphins to a 1-0 victory over Pace in a Northeast-10
Conference women’s soccer match at the Thomas J. Niland
Athletic Complex. The Dolphins(5-2, 4-2 NE-10) improve to 3-0 on
their home field, while the setters drop to 4-4-1 overall and 2-4-1
in the Northeast-10.
Eighteen minutes into the second half, sophomore midfielder
Jocie Jankowski (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) fed a
through ball into the penalty box to Harrison. The freshman forward
turned and deposited the ball in the back of the net for her sixth
goal of the season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Abbatiello (Liverpool,
N.Y./Liverpool) recorded seven saves in net to pick up her
third win of the season and second career shutout. Jocelyn Durando
stopped three shots on goal for the Setters.
The Dolphins return to action at home on
Saturday against Southern Connecticut State at 12 p.m.
