KAWZENUK AND SIEROTNIK NAMED TO IWLCA ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL
Syracuse, N.Y. - Le Moyne College women's lacrosse seniors Kristin Kawzenuk and Elizabeth Sierotnik have been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll for the 2008 season. The selection marks the second consecutive year Kawzenuk and Sierotnik have been honored by the IWLCA for their academic achievements. To qualify, student-athletes must have reached at least junior year status and achieve a minimum GPA of 3.2.
Kawzenuk, a biology major from Horseheads, N.Y., appeared in 13 games for the Dolphins in 2008, making seven starts. Kawzenuk recorded nine ground balls, while causing five turnovers. In 59 career games, including 44 starts, Kawzenuk picked up 41 ground balls, registered seven draw controls and caused 20 turnovers.
Sierotnik, a psychology major from Syracuse, N.Y., played in 16 games as a senior, registering 15 starts. Sierotnik tallied two goals and one assist from her defensive position for the Dolphins. She recorded 23 ground balls, five draw controls and caused nine turnovers in leading Le Moyne to a 12-5 record. For her career, Sierotnik made 72 appearances, including 65 starting assignments. She tallied 26 goals and dished out 11 assists to combine for 37 points. On the defensive end, Sierotnik picked up 111 ground balls and caused 49 turnovers, while recording 37 draw controls.
The duo, among 159 Division I women's lacrosse student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll, combined to lead the Le Moyne program to 53 wins during their career, including a spot in the 2007 Division NCAA Tournament.
