WOMEN'S LACROSSE: THE DOLPHINS FALL TO ALBANY 11-5 IN NON-CONFERENCE PLAY
ALBANY, NY. - Christine Grueniger and Kate Fontanta each scored three goals to lead Albany over Le Moyne 11-5 Wednesday evening at John Fallon Field.
Le Moyne (3-4) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after Meghan Burgoon (JR. A Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) converted her ninth goal of the season on a free-position opportunity. The Great Danes (3-4) rallied with five unanswered goals to end the first half.
The Dolphins were lead by Lisa McCarthy (SO. A Syracuse, NY / West Genesee) who scored two second-half goals increasing her season total to 11. Kari DeWick (FR. M Penn Yan, NY/ Penn Yan) and Molly Yaman (FR. M Homer, NY/Homer) also chipped in with one goal each. In goal, Samantha Falcone (JR. GK Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) recorded seven saves.
Le Moyne looks to bounce back against on Friday as the Dolphins host Mt. St. Mary's at 4:00 p.m. at Solvay High School.
