Worcester, Mass. - Four players scored in double figures to lead Assumption College to a 62-61 come-from-behind victory over the Le Moyne College women's basketball team on Tuesday evening in Northeast-10 Conference play at Laska Gym.

After Assumption opened the game's scoring 40 seconds into the contest, the Dolphins scored 14 straight points and 17 of the next 19 for the largest lead of the game. Marple scored the first five and Greer followed with the next five. Following a Marple jumper and two free throws from sophomore forward Maggie Brown (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland), Greer nailed her second three-pointer for a 17-4 lead with 13:41 left in the half.

Following a lay-up by junior forward Bath-Sheba McMahon (Queens, N.Y./Grambling Laboratory (La.)/Weatherford College) with 11:04 left that gave the Dolphins a 19-8 lead, the Greyhounds recorded an 18-8 run over the next 8:17 to get within a point. Seven different Greyhounds scored in the span, led by four points each from Roye and Ann Marie Idusuyi.

The Dolphins scored the last five points of the half to take a 32-26 lead into halftime. Greer made a lay-up and then senior guard Maddy McKnight (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) buried a three-pointer from the top of the arc with 23 seconds left.

The Greyhounds opened the second half with six of the first seven points before the Dolphins scored five straight to regain their six-point edge with 16:12 left. Caitlin Ackerman had four of the points for Assumption, while Greer had three and Marple had two for Le Moyne.

Following four consecutive free throws by Marple put the Dolphins up 44-37 with 11:53 to play, the Greyhounds scored nine straight points for their first lead since the game's opening minute. Conley had four points on back-to-back fast-break lay-ups, while O'Brien had the other five points, including a go-ahead three-pointer with 9:39 to go.

The teams then went back and forth over the final 8:39, with the game either tied or Assumption leading by one, two or three points. Roye had seven points in the stretch for the Greyhounds,  while Marple had nine for the Dolphins, including a free throw that tied the score at 53 (4:50 left) and a lay-up to knot the score at 55 (4:13 left).

After graduate student guard Kayla Stroman (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy/Niagara) tied the score at 59 apiece by making a shot clock-beating jumper with 2:42 to go, Conley made the second of two free-throw attempts with 2:11 left to give Assumption the lead. Roye then made two foul shots with 48 seconds left for a three-point edge.

Following two made free throws by Stroman with 39 seconds remaining, she grabbed a defensive rebound with 24 seconds left and the Dolphins called timeout with 19 seconds to play. Marple was able to drive into the paint, but her off-balance shot with two seconds to go was off the mark and pulled down by Insel to end the game.

Le Moyne (9-6, 5-4 NE-10), which has dropped nine straight to the Greyhounds, returns home to host Merrimack College on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
