Mansfield, Pa. – Sophomore forward Emily Greer (Corry, Pa./Corry) registered a double-double to lead the Le Moyne College women's basketball team to a 71-60 win over Mansfield University in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Decker Gymnasium.

Greer, who posted her second straight double-double, tallied 12 points and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds, while recording three steals. Sophomore guard Alex Marple (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) led the Dolphins offensively with 13 points, including eight in the first half. Senior guard Torie Lee (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) registered 11 points, while freshman forward Lauren Price (Humble, Texas/Atascocita) added 10 points.

Jena Matter led all players in the game with 14 points for the Mountaineers. Alyssa DeRichie recorded 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while Katie Yale also scored 10 points.

After the Mountaineers scored four of the game's first six points in the opening 1:30, the Dolphins rattled off 12 straight points over the next 2:55. Lee started the run with a jumper and followed a lay-up by Marple with a lay-up of her own for an 8-4 lead at the 16:35 mark. Freshman forward Maggie Brown (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) then converted a lay-up and knocked down a jumper before Price made a lay-up to cap the run.

The teams went back-and-forth over the next six minutes with Le Moyne's lead growing to 29-14. Price, Marple and Greer each recorded four points in the span, while sophomore forward Tessa Pucello (Syracuse, N.Y./Solvay) nailed her first three-pointer of the year. DeRichie and Matter led the Mountaineers in the stretch with four points each.

After Matter hit a jumper with 8:53 left to make the score 29-16, the Dolphins closed out the half on a 14-5 run. Lee, freshman guard Lauren Salzbrenner (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan North), Greer and junior guard Ashley Prischak (Erie, Pa./Villa Marie Academy) nailed three-pointers in the streak, while junior guard Raven Short (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) ended the half's scoring with a lay-up.

Mansfield opened the second half with 10 of the first 12 points to pull within 45-31 with 16:32 remaining in the game. Yale had four of the points, Matter and Julia Stevenson made lay-ups and DeRichie converted a pair of free throws, while Marple made a jumper for the Dolphins.

The teams traded points over the next 15 minutes with Le Moyne's lead bouncing between 14 and 18 points. Eight different Dolphins scored at least two points in the stretch with Greer leading the way with five points and Price and Lee adding four points each. The Mounties got points from six players in the span, including the first seven by Katie Fitzpatrick.

After Brown gave the Dolphins a 69-52 lead with 1:50 remaining, Victoria Lacey nailed three-pointers on consecutive possessions to pull the Mounties within 69-58, the closest the game had been since the Dolphins led 18-9 with 12:57 left in the first half. Sophomore guard Maddie Hahesy (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and Kayla Espigh each made a pair of free throws in the final 21 seconds to close out the game's scoring.

Le Moyne (4-7), which improved to 21-1 all-time against the Mounties and has won 15 straight meetings, returns to Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at home against Southern New Hampshire at 5:30 p.m.
