Syracuse, N.Y. - The Le Moyne College women's basketball team made the most of its lone preseason game, knocking off the University of Ottawa, 55-36, in exhibition action at Ted Grant Court. Senior Katie Dunn led the Dolphins with 17 points.
Le Moyne never trailed outside of the game's first 20 seconds. A 14-4 run pushed the Dolphins' lead to double-digits at the 6:34 mark of the first half. With less than two minutes left in the first half, the Gee Gees trimmed the deficit to one but Le Moyne responded by scoring five straight points to take a 25-19 lead into the halftime break.
The Dolphins pushed their lead to 11 in the first four minutes of the second half. But in less than a minute, Ottawa trimmed nine points off of Le Moyne's lead to pull within 33-31. A 22-3 run over the next 14 minutes secured the win for the Dolphins. Le Moyne's defense allowed only five points in the game's final 15 minutes, forcing 12 Ottawa turnovers.
Dunn was the only Dolphin in double-figures for the afternoon, netting 17 points and connecting on four three-pointers. She also led Le Moyne with three assists. Sophomore Danielle Felice and junior Brittany Davis each scored seven points for the Dolphins and senior Vanessa Holden pulled down nine rebounds to lead Le Moyne.
