BENTLEY SURGES IN FINAL MINUTES TO DELIVER 50-46 DEFEAT

Story assistance by Bentley Athletic Communications
WALTHAM, Mass. - The Bentley Falcons charged back from a ten point deficit in the final six minutes to deliver a 50-46 defeat to Le Moyne. The victory pushed the Falcons record to 10-4, 7-3 in NE-10 play. Le Moyne falls to 7-8, 4-7 in conference action.

Sophomore Courtney Coryea led the Dolphins with 12 points and 13 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season.

The Dolphins struggled early in the game as the Falcons jumped out to a 14-4 lead after six minutes. Over the last 14 minutes of the first half and first 14 of the second half, Le Moyne was in complete control as they outscored Bentley 39-19.  While Le Moyne only shot 33% from the field and did not attempt a free-throw, the Dolphins did pick up 20 offensive rebounds to aid their attack.

Down the stretch, a steal and a lay-up by Bentley's Kim Brennan with 39.4 seconds gave Bentley its first lead of the second half, and following a Le Moyne miss, Bruton made two from the line with 13.7 seconds left to push the lead to three. The Dolphins last attempt would fall short and Bentley would record one more free throw in the final seconds to secure the four-point victory.

Junior Vanessa Holden joined Coryea in double figures with 10 points. Graduate Student Jacquelin Precious chipped in with nine points on three 3-pointers.

The Dolphins return to Ted Grant Court on Wednesday, January 16th as they host Franklin Pierce at 5:30 PM.
