DOLPHINS KNOCK OFF AIC FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 24
DAYS
SPRINGFIELD, MA – The Le Moyne College women’s
basketball team traveled to AIC and defeated the Yellow Jackets for
the second time in 24 days. Led by junior Vanessa Holden’s 13
points and six rebounds, the Dolphins improve to 7-6 on the year,
4-5 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The AIC Yellow Jackets fall to
8-5, 5-4 in conference play.
Two free throws by Rhiannon Berry with 2:19 to play in the first
half gave the Dolphins a 20-18 advantage and a lead they would not
relinquish. Le Moyne would stretch their lead to 25-21 on a
Kathleen Gladstone 3-pointer going into halftime. The Dolphins
rallied out of the locker room to increase their lead to 35-25 on a
3-pointer by graduate student Jacquelin Precious. The lead would
grow to as many as 12 in the second half as the Dolphins captured
their third victory in four games.
Courtney Coryea joined Holden in double figures with 10 points and
eight rebounds. Precious and Gladstone chipped in with nine points
each. The Yellow Jackets were led Jen Moussette and Stacy Boisvert
who added 12 and 10 points respectively.
The Dolphins return to action on January 10th as they travel to
Southern Connecticut to take on the Owls for the second time this
season. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM.
