LE MOYNE TRIPPED BY BLOOMFIELD, 55-54, IN FINAL
MINUTE
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Courtney Coryea and Brandy Wangelin combined
for 23 points and 21 rebounds but the Le Moyne College
women’s basketball team fell short against Bloomfield, 55-54,
at Ted Grant Court. Kim Wagoner poured in a team-high 14 points for
the Dolphins (4-5, 3-4 NE-10). The Deacons (5-3, 3-0 CACC) were
paced by Marissa Franklin’s 15 points. Franklin delivered a
runner in the lane with 13 seconds left to cap the Bloomfield
comeback.
The Dolphins jumped out to an early lead on the strength of a 22-9
run to open up the game. Stellar three-point shooting in the first
half helped Le Moyne build a 26-21 halftime advantage. Wagoner and
Jacquelin Precious each knocked down a pair of trifectas in the
game’s first 20 minutes while Coryea grabbed nine first-half
boards.
Bloomfield ended the contest on an 11-4 run in the game’s
final five minutes. Coryea finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds,
Wangelin accumulated 12 points and seven boards and Wagoner
collected three steals to go along with her 14 points.
The Dolphins host Felician in a non-conference tilt on Friday.
Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
