NO. 15 AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL WINS EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE GAME, 61-42 OVER LE MOYNE

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Stacy Boisvert scored 17 points to lead No. 15 American International to a 61-42 victory over Le Moyne in a Northeast-10 women's basketball game at Butova Gymnasium.  The Yellow Jackets (20-4, 15-4 Northeast-10) won their eighth straight, while the Dolphins drop to 9-16 overall and 5-15 in the league. Katie Dunn (Whippany, N.J./Morris Catholic) scored a game-high 18 points for Le Moyne.

Dunn, who hit four-of-six from 3-point range, was the only Le Moyne player in double figures. Kim Wagoner (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) scored seven points and Vanessa Holden (Suffern, N.Y./Immaculate Heart) added six. The Dolphins turned the ball over just 15 times, but was outmatched on the glass. The hosts posted a 53-24 rebounding advantage, including a 23-7 edge on the offensive end.

Boisvert finished 6-13 from the floor and 5-6 from the free throw line.  Lexanne Dickerson added 14 points and five rebounds, while Alexis Castro recorded eight points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

The hosts never trailed in the contest and built a 20-8 lead midway through the first half on a basket by Boisvert.  AIC would take its largest lead of the first 20 minutes with 1:10 left before halftime on a Kristin Boesenberg 3-pointer.  The Yellow Jackets would take a 33-20 lead into the locker room and would put the game away by outscoring the Dolphins 11-4 over the first six minutes of the second half to make it 44-24 on a pair of free throws by Mirlane Francois.  Le Moyne would get no closer than 15 points the rest of the way.

Le Moyne closes out the regular season with a weekend trip to Manchester, N.H. The Dolphins will play Saint Anselm on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and close out the regular season on Monday at Southern New Hampshire.
