ASSUMPTION STOPS LE MOYNE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WIN STREAK 62-50, KATIE DUNN SCORES 17 TO LEAD DOLPHINS

WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore guard Katie Dunn (Whippany, N.J./Morris Catholic) scored 17 points for Le Moyne, but the Dolphins saw their winning streak end at two straight in a 62-50 setback at Assumption. The host Greyhounds (6-7, 4-5 NE-10) held Le Moyne to just one field goal over the first 11 minutes of the second half. The Dolphins (6-7, 2-6 NE-10) host last season's national runner-up American International on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Dunn drilled five 3-pointers, including a first-half buzzer beater that made it a 31-30 game at the intermission.

Assumption used a 21-6 burst out of the intermission to build its biggest lead of the game, 52-36, with 10:04 remaining. Le Moyne used a 14-6 charge to trim it to 58-50 on a Dunn 3-pointer with 3:07 remaining, but the Dolphins would pull no closer.

Lindsay Carr (Bronx, N.Y./Preston) and Courtney Coryea (Mooers Forks, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton) scored 11 points each to join Dunn in double figures. Carr hit 6-of-6 from the free throw line and handed out four assists.

Beth Plasski paced Assumption with 17 points. Megan Urban scored 14 points off the bench and Jess Paulson chipped in 13 points for the victors. Assumption limited Le Moyne to a 6-for-23 effort from the field and forced the Dolphins into 15 turnovers in the second half. The Greyhounds have won four straight games.
