WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STIFLES LE MOYNE 76-47

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Kate Lynch and Shamika Jackson scored 15 points each to lead unbeaten Southern Connecticut to a 76-47 Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball win over Le Moyne at Moore Field House. The Owls (4-0, 3-0 Northeast-10) used a 49-24 rebounding advantage to hold Le Moyne to a season-low point total.

Sophomore Katie Dunn (Whippany, N.J./Morris Catholic) scored a game-high 16 points to lead Le Moyne. Lindsay Carr (Bronx, N.Y./Preston), Vanessa Holden (Suffern, N.Y./Immaculate Heart) and Courtney Coryea (Mooers Forks, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton) scored nine points each for Le Moyne. The Dolphins managed just 13 field goals on 44 shots from the field.

The host Owls led just 26-19 at the half, but outscored their guests 50-28 in the second half.

Le Moyne hosts Saint Anselm on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
