NO. 8 GLENVILLE STATE HOLDS OFF LE MOYNE 67-55 IN GOLDEN BEAR
CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Tournament MVP Rachel Redick scored 15
points to lead No. 8 Glenville State to a 67-55 win over Le Moyne
in the championship game of the Golden Bear Classic at Kutztown
State. Sophomore Katie Dunn (Whippany, N.J./Morris
Catholic) led Le Moyne with 21 points. She was joined on
the all-tournament team by teammate Courtney Coryea
(Moorers Forks, N.Y./Northeastern
Clinton) who scored 11 points in
the setback.
Le Moyne led for the final 10 minutes of the first half, carried a 27-24 lead into the intermission and led for the first 15 minutes and six seconds of the second half. Mallory Menendez knocked down four 3-pointers over a two minute and 26 second span that turned a six-point Glenville State deficit with 5:44 remaining into a 54-50 lead with 3:18 left that the Lady Pioneers would not relinquish.
Senior Lindsay Carr (Bronx, N.Y./Preston) joined Dunn and Coryea in double figures with 10 points.
The Dolphins host unbeaten Saint Rose in their Northeast-10 Conference opener on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
