Garden City, N.Y. - Sophomore middle hitter Kelli Willets (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal) totaled 17 kills, but the Le Moyne College volleyball team was swept by Adelphi and Bridgeport on Sunday afternoon at the Center for Recreation and Sport. The Dolphins lost a Northeast-10 Conference match-up to Adelphi, 3-0, before dropping a non-conference decision to Bridgeport, 3-1.

In the first game of the opening match, the Dolphins fell behind 11-3 as Adelphi's Jennifer McKenna served for four straight points. The Panthers later pushed their lead out to 19-8 before capturing the game with a 25-13 win. Kelsey Hackett and Chelsea Overholt each landed three kills for the Panthers, while Willets tallied four kills for the Dolphins.

In game two, the two teams battled back-and-forth before the Panthers were able to record a 25-22 victory. However, the Panthers scored five of the game's final six points, capped by a Patawe Simms kill. Simms and Pavels registered four kills each, while Willets totaled five.

After the two squads split the first 10 points of the third game, the Panthers cruised to a 25-14 victory to complete the sweep. Hackett followed a Le Moyne service error with five straight points to push out to an 11-5 advantage. Adelphi used a 5-0 run to turn a 16-11 lead into a 10-point advantage before closing out the match.

Willets finished the match with a career-best 11 kills in posting a match-high .500 hitting percentage. Freshman Allison Hebel (Greenlawn, N.Y./Harborfields) registered a match-leading 13 digs, while senior setter Kaylin Brainerd (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) dished out 24 assists.
