VBALL: FRANKLIN PIERCE SWEEPS LE MOYNE IN
NE-10 MATCH
SYRACUSE, NY - Caitlynn Parnell landed 13 kills to lead Franklin
Pierce to a 3-0 sweep of the Le Moyne College volleyball team on
Sunday at Ted Grant Court. The loss drops the Dolphins to 11-9, 4-5
in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Ravens improve to 13-14 and 6-4
in the NE-10.
The Ravens opened the match with a 28-26 victory in the first set.
Franklin Pierce followed with a 25-18 win in the second set and a
25-16 victory to close out the match.
Parnell added two digs and two blocks to her 13 kills. Karissa
Hookstadt posted 33 assists and a pair of service aces. Chelsie
Konout registered a team-high eight digs, while Emily Schultz
recorded nine kills and seven digs.
Senior Jodi Smith (Angola, N.Y./Eden) led the Dolphins with 12
kills and five digs. Caitlin Richardson (Victor,
N.Y./Victor) recorded eight kills and two blocks in the
match, while junior Elizabeth Cheek (Huntington Beach,
Calif./Rosary) posted seven kills and nine
digs. Junior setter Kaylin Brainerd (Liverpool,
N.Y./Liverpool) dished out a match-high 35 assists and
junior libero Lindsey Gleason (Hamburg,
N.Y./Frontier) added nine digs.
The Dolphins return to action on Saturday, October 25th as they
host Southern Connecticut State and Queens at Ted Grant Court at
noon and 4:00 p.m.
