SBALL: SCHWEIKERT’S CLUTCH HITTING LEAD LE MOYNE TO TWO VICTORIES

KISSIMMEE, FL – The Le Moyne College softball team closed out their week at the Rebel Games with two victories on Saturday morning. The Dolphins opened the day with a 4-0 extra inning victory over Caldwell College. Le Moyne would then deal Adelphi University a 1-0 shutout to improve to 10-2 on the season.

Against Caldwell, senior Jennifer Farrelly (Latham, NY / Shaker) pitched a complete game shutout to earn her third win of the season. Scoreless until the eighth inning, junior Kelly Schweikert (Rochester, NY / Spencerport) broke open the game with a three run triple. Following a sacrifice bunt by Leah Ford (Pulaski, NY / Pulaski), fellow freshman Barbara Shea (Clifton Park, NY / Shenendehowa) pushed across the Dolphins’ fourth run on a run scoring single.

Sophomore Jenna Vanacore (Hicksville, NY / Holy Trinity) recorded her fourth consecutive shout out to lead the Dolphins to a 1-0 victory over Adelphi. She allowed two hits and struck out three Panthers on the day. Vanacore improved her record to 6-0 and has not allowed a run in 33 consecutive innings of work.
