SARAH REED NAMED FIRST TEAM NFCA ALL-AMERICAN

STARKVILLE, MS – Senior Sarah Reed was named to the 2008 Louisville Slugger / NFCA Division II All-American first team following a senior campaign where she led the Dolphins to a 46-11 record and a berth in the NCAA Northeast Regional. Reed is the first Dolphin to receive first-team accolades in program history.

In being named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, Reed led the conference in all major offensive categories including batting average (.469), RBI’s (62) and home runs (12). In the circle, Sarah led the team with 15 wins with a 2.19 ERA. Additionally, Reed was named to the NFCA All-Region first team, NE-10 All-Conference first team and the NE-10 All-Academic team.

In 2008, the Le Moyne Dolphins captured the program’s fifth regular season championship and second NE-10 tournament championship. The 46 wins against 11 defeats were second best in program history for wins in a year.
