LE MOYNE SPLITS ANOTHER DAY AT THE REBEL GAMES. THE
DOLPHIN’S WIN IN A NINE INNING GAME AGAINST NORTHWOOD
3-2.

Kissimmee, FL. – Le Moyne falls to
Wilmington in their first game 5-3 but pulls out the win against
Northwood in extra innings 3-2. Wilmington’s pitching
silences Le Moynes bats in their first game of the day. Jennifer
Farrelly picks up her second win of the season against
Northwood.
Le Moyne’s first game looked promising scoring two runs early
in the first inning. Bailey Phillips and Sarah Reed plated two for
the Dolphins first at bat of the day. Le Moyne would tack on
another run as Caitlin O’Neill scored from second on an error
by Wilmington’s first basemen. Wilmington would begin to make
a move in the third tying the game 3-3. The Dolphins bats would go
silent as Wilmington began to take over the game. Scoring again in
the forth and an unearned run in the fifth Wilmington would never
look back. The Dolphins would fall by a final score of 5-3.
In the Second game of the day Northwood would take an early lead
scoring one run in the first. The teams would battle neck and neck
through four innings until the Ddolphins would plate a run. Reeds
clutch RBI single in the fifth would bring in Phillips to tie the
score 1-1. Going in to extra innings the teams would score one
unearned run each in the eighth making the score 2-2. The Dolphins
defense would stop Wilmington from scoring in the ninth giving Le
Moyne room to take the game. With two outs Van Gorder would race
home scoring the winning run on a wild pitch.
The Dolphins defense should their strength pulling off a double
play in the eighth and ninth inning. In the eighth Farrellys snared
line drive comebacker throw to Emma Murphy at first doubling off
the runner would end the inning. Then in the ninth Van Gorders
strong throw to third on a fly out would catch the runner trying to
advance. This ended the inning and set the Dolphins up for the
win.
Le Moyne takes a day off on Wednesday and returns to action on
Thursday with a double header against Saginaw Valley at 9 a.m and a
third game against Conocrdia at 5:30 p.m.
