LE MOYNE OPENS CONFERENCE PLAY WITH WEEKEND DOUBELHEADERS

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Le Moyne College softball team opens conference play in home opener on Saturday. Le Moyne hosts Southern New Hampshire on Saturday and Saint Anselm on Sunday in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Dolphins enter the weekend with a 7-9 record and are on a three-game win streak.

Offensively, the 2006 Northeast Regional Champions are led by senior centerfielder Lindsay Spaziani (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads). Spaziani has a team-best .310 batting average with two home runs and four runs batted in. She also leads the team with two triples and nine runs scored. Junior first baseman Emma Murphy (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) is the team leader in runs batted in with six.

In the pitcher's circle the Dolphins have a quartet of pitchers sharing the innings load thus far this season. Junior righty Sarah Reed (DeWitt, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) brings a 2-3 record with two saves and 15 strikeouts in 32 innings of work into the weekend. Senior southpaw Martha Senko (Pine City, N.Y./Elmira Free Academy) has pitched 28.2 innings in five appearances and has a 2-2 record with a 2.20 ERA and a team-high 18 strikeouts. Sophomore Jennifer Farrelly (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) brings a 1-2 record and a team-best 1.73 ERA with two saves and 18 strikeouts into this weekend's action. Junior righty Caylinn Christophersen (Norwich, N.Y./ Norwich) has the Dolphins other two wins and 16 strikeouts in 19.2 innings over five appearances.

Southern New Hampshire enters the weekend with a 2-2 record, while Saint Anselm has a 3-11 record.
