DESLAURIERS AND REED EARN ALL-TOURNAMENT ACCOLADES
FORT MYERS, FL - Senior Kristen DesLauriers (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and junior Sarah Reed (DeWitt, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) have been named to the FGCU Spring Break 2007 Tournament all-Tournament team. In the two-day event, DesLauriers and Reed led the Dolphins to a 2-2 record and a fourth place finish.
DesLauriers, selected as the all-Tournament team catcher, went three-for-ten with a double and two runs batted in at the plate for the Dolphins. She also recorded a team-best .417 on-base percentage. Behind the plate, she threw out two base-runners in three opportunities and picked off one runner at first base. She ended the C.W. Post game by recording the pick off with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning. In the Saginaw Valley State game, DesLauriers scored the eventual game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Reed, selected to the all-Tournament team as a utility player, was the winning pitcher in both games for Le Moyne. She went all seven innings in both games, recording eight strikeouts, while yielding only nine hits and three earned runs. Reed pitched a three-hit shut-out in the victory over Northeast Regional rival C.W. Post. and gave up six hits in the 8-4 victory over Saginaw Valley State.
Le Moyne went 4-9 in their season-opening trip to Florida and
return to action March 17 at Holy Family University in Philadelphia
at 12 p.m.
