March 2, 2007FARRELLY DRIVES IN TWO AS LE MOYNE EARNS SPLIT AT FLORIDA GULF COAST TOURNAMENT
FORT MYERS, FL - Sophomore Jennifer Farrelly (Latham,

a 2-0 victory over C.W. Post at the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament.

threw a three-hit shutout to pick up first victory of the season.
The Dolphins, after dropping their first game of the day to
Mercyhurst 2-1, improve to 3-8 on the season, while the Pioneers
drop their first game of the season.
In game one, Mercyhurst jumped out to a 1-0 lead with an unearned
run in the bottom of the first inning. The game was scoreless until
the top of the sixth inning when the Dolphins tied the score at
one. Junior Emma Murphy (East Syracuse, N.Y./East
Syracuse-Minoa) doubled to left center to lead-off the
sixth. She advanced to third on an out and scored on a wild pitch
two batters later. The Lakers were able to plate the winning run
with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jen Feret drove
in Melissa Rizzo from third base with a single up the middle to
deliver Mercyhurst their fourth win of the season. Senior

went the distance in the circle for Le Moyne in suffering her
second loss of the season. Senko struck out one, while yielding six
hits and just one earned run.
The Dolphins second game of the day was a rematch of the finals
of the 2006 NCAA Northeast Regional. After a scoreless first six
innings of the game, Le Moyne plated two runs with two outs in the
top of the seventh inning. After freshman Kelly Schweikert
(Rochester, N.Y./Spencerport) was hit by a pitch, Murphy
reached on a Pioneer error. Sophomore Caitlin O'Neill
(Pittsford, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) reached on a fielder's
choice giving the Dolphins runners on first and second base.
Farrelly drilled a 1-1 pitch to right center to plate pinch-runner
Winonah Cook (Onondaga Nation/Lafayette) from
second and O'Neill from first.
Reed struck out five batters while allowing just three hits in
recording her fourth career victory over the Pioneers.
The Dolphins return to action Saturday morning at 9 a.m. against
