SOFTBALL: FLORIDA GULF COAST UPENDS LE MOYNE 4-1 IN OPENER
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Carmen Paez ripped a two-run home run in the bottom of the third to lead Florida Gulf Coast past Le Moyne 4-1 in the Eckerd College Triton Invitational. The Ealges improve to 12-2 overall, while Le Moyne drops to 0-1.
Junior Emma Murphy (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) had two hits for the Dolphins. Murphy drove in sophomore Lyndsey Balinskas (Edison, N.J./Edison) in the top of the first to give Le Moyne a 1-0 lead.
The Dolphins play Nova Southeastern and Rollins tomorrow in St. Petersburg.
