CHIEFS TO HONOR LE MOYNE JUNIOR SARAH REED AT HOT STOVE DINNER

SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse Chiefs announced today that Le Moyne College junior softball player SARAH REED will be honored at the team's annual Hot Stove Dinner and Silent Auction on Friday, February 2 at the Holiday Inn in Liverpool.

REED will be honored as the Pre-Season Collegiate Softball Player of the Year. Reed enters the 2007 season with a career pitching record of 34-16 with a 1.64 ERA and seven saves. At the plate Reed owns a .315 career batting average with 8 home runs and 52 RBI. In 2006 Reed was named the Northeast-10 Conference first-team Pitcher, Northeast-10 All-Academic first-team and to the Northeast Regional All-Tournament Team.

The Dinner will also include former New York Yankees second baseman Bobby Richardson, new Chiefs manager Doug Davis, Chiefs outfielder Chad Mottola, Detroit Tigers 2006 World Series pitcher and Baldwinsville, NY native Jason Grilli and a bevy of former major league players including John Johnstone, Frank DiPino, Mike Barlow, Mark Lukasiewicz, Steve Grilli, Le Moyne College Assistant Coach Pete Hoy, Jon Ratliff,  Dunedin Blue Jays pitching coach Tom Signore, LeMoyne College AD Dick Rockwell, LeMoyne College Head Coach Steve Owens, OCC Baseball Coach Bryan Gaal and others.

Tickets for the event are $45.00 for adults, $20.00 for children 12 and under or $400.00 for a table of 10 and are available for advance purchase only at the Chiefs Ticket Office at Alliance Bank Stadium, by phone (315) 474-7833 or online at www.syracusechiefs.com. The Silent Auction begins at 5:30 PM and dinner will be served at 7:00 PM.
