Le Moyne Athletics : Le Moyne College falls to Georgia College & State 7-1 in Softball College World Series

LE MOYNE FALLS TO GEORGIA COLLEGE & STATE UNIVERSITY 7-1 IN GAME 5 OF NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Salem, VA - Le Moyne College Women's Softball falls to #11 Georgia College & State University in Game 5 of the NCAA Division II College World Series. GC&SU topped the Dolphins 7-1.

Senior rightfielder Ashley Anderson (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) picked up the Dolphins first hit of the game in the third inning. Sophomore Sarah Reed (DeWitt, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) singled up the middle in the fourth inning to deliver the Dolphins their second hit.

Junior centerfielder Lindsay Spaziani (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) roped a ground-rule double over the center field fence to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning. Junior second basemen Melissa Quimby (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville) followed with another double to left-center to move two Dolphins into scoring position. Kristen DesLauriers (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) grounded out to the shortstop to plate Spaziani for the Dolphins first run of the Championship tournament.
