SALEM, Va. - Listen live as the Le Moyne College softball team embarks on its fourth appearance in the NCAA Division II softball championship on Thursday at noon. The Northeast region champion Dolphins (32-19) meet No. 3 Florida Southern (53-6), the South region champions, in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament.
Le Moyne has captured its second consecutive NCAA Northeast Region Championship and fourth in five seasons. The seventh-seeded Dolphins edged second-seeded Adelphi 3-1, No. 6 seed Queens 10-1 and upset top-seeded LIU-C.W. Post 5-4. As the lone unbeaten team in the rain-shortened tournament at Bryant University, Le Moyne was declared the regional champion.
