Syracuse N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team closed out its fall season with a 9-0 loss to Edinboro University on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at the Skytop Tennis Courts.

At first doubles, Edinboro's Brandon Romain and Colin Bandell defeated junior Alessandro Nieves (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and junior Daryl Johnson (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) 9-8 after taking the tiebreaker by a score of 7-3.  Kevin Caldwell and Corey Runyan combined to post an 8-1 victory over graduate student Michael Green (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and sophomore Shane Evans (Oswego, N.Y./Pulaski).  At third doubles, Amir Talab and James Cooper posted an 8-0 win over freshmen Blaine Drake (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and Tyler Shaban (Liverpool, N.Y./C.W. Baker).

At first singles, Caldwell defeated Evans 6-0, 6-0. Talab was victorious over Johnson 6-0, 6-2 at second singles, while Nieves lost to Runyan 6-2, 6-2 in what was the closest match of the day. At fourth singles, Duncan registered 6-2, 6-1 wins over Green. Bandell topped freshman John Gerstner (East Rochester, N.Y./East Rochester) 6-0, 6-0 in fifth singles, while Romain was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over senior Robert Brooks (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton).

Le Moyne (0-5, 0-4 NE-10) opens its spring season at home on Sunday, February 24 against Daemen at 3:00 p.m. at Gold's Gym.
