WTEN: SAINT ANSELM EDGES LE MOYNE 5-4
Manchester, N.H. – The Le Moyne College women’s tennis
team dropped their first NE-10 conference match of the spring to
Saint Anselm on Saturday 5-4. The win was the first for the Hawks
on the season. Le Moyne drops to 2-7 overall, 2-5 in the
conference.
Juniors Tirzah Walrath (Cortland, NY / Cortland), Allison Cohen
(Fayetteville, NY / Jamesville DeWitt) and Marielle Artessa
(Syracuse, NY / Henninger) captured straight-set victories for the
Dolphins.
The day came down to the last singles match as Hawk freshman Amanda
Brahm defeated Le Moyne sophomore Molly Slifer (Henrietta, NY /
Bishop Kearney) 7-6 (7-1) and 6-3 to give Saint Anselm their first
victory of the season.
The Dolphins return to conference action on Wednesday, April 1st as
they host Saint Rose.
