Birmingham, Ala. – Le Moyne College freshman Tara O'Donnell (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) earned Honorable Mention All-America accolades on Saturday night to close out the four-day NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the CrossPlex Natatorium. O'Donnell was joined at the Championships by freshman diver Josh Byrne (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee).

O'Donnell, who competed in four events at the Championships, turned in her best performance of the week in the 200-yard backstroke. In the preliminaries on Saturday morning, O'Donnell posted a time of 2:03.80 to place 14th and earn a berth in the consolation finals during the night session. In the fifth event of the night, O'Donnell touched the wall in 2:05.15 to finish in 15th place and become just the eighth Dolphin (female or male) in the program's history to earn All-America honors.

O'Donnell opened competition at the Championships by recording a time of 2:07.95 in the 200-yard individual medley on Wednesday morning. On Thursday, she registered a time of 1:53.02 to place 22nd in the 200-yard freestyle. In the 100-yard backstroke on Friday morning, O'Donnell finished 21st with a career-best time of 57.39 seconds, becoming just the second Dolphin to record a time that fast.

Byrne competed in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events. On Wednesday, Byrne placed 17th after receiving 421.15 points on the three-meter board. Byrne then recorded 406.00 points in the one-meter diving event to place 17th.
