CHIDSEY NAMED NORTHEAST-10 MEN'S SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE
WEEK
South Easton, Mass. - Senior Ricky Chidsey
(Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) was selected as the
men's swimming athlete of the week, as announced by the conference
on Monday afternoon.
Chidsey captured the award four the fourth times this season and
his first since January 26th. Chidsey, who competed in
the UNYSCSA this past weekend, had seven top-four finishes (three
individual and four relay) including two victories.
Chidsey placed first in both the 200 Yard Freestyle and 200 Yard
Backstroke. Chidsey's time in the 200 Yard Backstroke was good
enough for an NCAA Division II A Cut time and broke the old
association and school record formerly set by older brother and
assistant coach Will Chidsey. Ricky Chidsey placed second in the 50
Yard Freestyle. Both the 200 Yard Backstroke and 50 Yard Freestyle
were good enough times for NCAA B Cut.
Chidsey also swam on four relay teams that placed in the top four
including the 200 Yard Freestyle (fourth place) and 400 yard
Freestyle (third place) where he swam the last leg. The team time
for the 200 Yard Freestyle was good for an NCAA B Cut time. Chidsey
swam the first leg of both the 200 Medley (third place) and 400
Yard Medley (second place).
