Kansas City, Kan. – Le Moyne College men's soccer junior midfielder Alexander Lautner (Munich, Germany/Theodolinden Gymnasium) has been named to the 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Division Men's Scholar All-East Region Team, as announced by the association this week.

Lautner, a Management and Information Systems major with a 3.76 grade point average, earned a spot on the honorable mention team. Lautner is one of just three student-athletes from the Northeast-10 Conference to be recognized with the others being American International's Jason Ryan and Southern New Hampshire's Keegan Campbell. A starter in all 18 games played this season, one of only four field players to do so, registered four points on a career-high four assists. His assist total marked the second-highest amount on the team. He picked up his first points of the season with assists on Le Moyne's second and third goals in a 6-0 home win over Saint Anselm on September 21. He then had the assist on both goals in a 2-1 home victory over Assumption on October 23. In 48 career games (37 starts), Lautner has recorded 20 points on seven goals and six assists.

The Dolphins finished the season with a record of 11-7 and earned a berth in the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Soccer Championship for the 13th straight year, the second-longest streak in the conference.

To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution; be in his or her second year at the current school if he or she is a transfer student; and submit the Junior or Senior College Scholar All-America GPA Certification and Signature Release Form.

Those meeting the above criteria will be considered by the committee for one of the Scholar All-America teams. The committee reviews both the academic and athletic accomplishments of the nominees. The NSCAA Scholar Athletes of the Year for men and women are selected by the national selection committee from all levels of the Scholar All-America teams.
