Easton, Mass. – Senior midfielder Vince Scaravillo (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) scored with just 44 seconds remaining in the first overtime period to give the Le Moyne College men's soccer team a 2-1 win over Stonehill College on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Skyhawk Field.

Junior Emmanuel Chanelo (Syracuse, N.Y./Corcoran) got the Dolphins on the scoreboard first with his first goal of the season 24 and one-half minutes into the game. He collected a pass at the top of the penalty box, headed the ball forward and sent a shot into the lower left corner of the goal after beating his defender.

After 40 minutes of scoreless action to start the second half, during which time the Dolphins posted a 7-3 advantage in shots (4-1 on goal), the Skyhawks evened the score at one apiece with just 4:11 remaining in regulation. Jonathan Hope had his initial shot blocked by a Le Moyne defender, but gained control of the rebound and blasted a shot into the back of the net.

After failing to put their first two shots of overtime on goal, the Dolphins beat Stonehill goalkeeper Luke Besse for the game-winner. Sophomore midfielder Alexander Lautner (Munich, Germany/Theodolinden Gymnasium) chipped the ball over the Stonehill defense to Scaravillo, who controlled the ball and raced down the right side of the field before drilling a shot into the upper right corner of the goal for his second tally of the campaign.

Junior goalkeeper Matthew Silva (Brampton, Ontario/St. Augustine) earned the win in between the pipes by making three saves, including one with just 15 seconds remaining in regulation. Besse made six saves in suffering the loss for the Skyhawks. Stonehill recorded a 17-15 edge in shots, while each team took four corner kicks.

Le Moyne (5-7, 4-5 NE-10), which improved to 2-3 in overtime games this season, returns to action on Wednesday against Merrimack at 3:30 p.m.
