MSOC: DOLPHINS COME FROM BEHIND TO UPEND #16 WILMINGTON, 2-1

Syracuse, N.Y. - Junior back Sean Lawlor (Kirkham, Preston/Baines School) scored his first goal of the season and the Le Moyne College men's soccer team came from behind to knock off No. 16 Wilmington University, 2-1, in non-conference action Thursday afternoon at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex.

After being out-shot 8-2 in the first half, the Dolphins scored a pair of second-half goals four minutes apart to earn the win. Lawlor evened the score at 1-1 on a booming penalty kick after a Wilmington foul in the penalty box at the 53:06 mark. Forward Angelo Reina (Frankfort, N.Y./Utica Notre Dame), the Northeast-10 Conference player of the week for Aug. 31, netted his fifth goal of the season on a breakaway just over four minutes later. The junior has scored the game-winning goal in each of Le Moyne's three wins this season.

The Wildcats, who came into the game ranked No. 2 in the NSCAA/adidas East Regional Poll, scored the game's first goal just before the halftime break, at the 43:54 mark. Senior forward Sargbah Tarpeh took a flicked ball from freshman midfielder Justus Henry and slid it just past Le Moyne goalkeeper Steve White (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland).

White, the reigning Northeast-10 Conference goalkeeper of the week, finished with four saves. The senior earned his 37th career win to take over first place in program history. Sophomore goalkeeper Ethan Kavanagh finished with a pair of saves for the Wildcats.

Le Moyne (3-0-1, NE-10 0-0), ranked No. 6 in the NSCAA/adidas East Regional Poll, travels to Southern New Hampshire for its first Northeast-10 Conference game of the season at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Penmen are the top-ranked team in the East Regional Poll and sit No. 10 in the national rankings.
