MSOC: ANGELO REINA LEADS #14 LE MOYNE PAST NEW HAVEN 4-0

Syracuse, N.Y. - Sophomore forward Angelo Reina (Frankfurt, N.Y./Utica Notre Dame) tallied two goals to lead the #14-ranked Le Moyne College men's soccer team to a 4-0 Northeast-10 Conference win over New Haven on Wednesday at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex.

Senior midfielder Matthew Pecheone (New Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford) opened the scoring at the 7:34 mark following a rebound. After sophomore midfielder Domenico Vitale (Liverpool, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) hit the crossbar with a header, Pecheone put the rebound in with a shot from six yards out.

Reina, the conference's reigning player of the week, netted his sixth goal of the season at the 19:52 mark on a breakaway. After Pecheone collected a ball in the midfield and fed the ball down the left channel, Reina outraced the defense and slid the ball to the left of the goalkeeper for the goal. Just over 30 seconds later, Reina tallied his sixth goal in four contests as he collected a feed from Pecheone down the left side and sidestepped the goalkeeper to give the Dolphins a 3-0 lead at the 20:36 mark.

Following back-and-forth play throughout the second half, Le Moyne tacked on a goal off a corner kick in the 90th minute. Senior co-captain Brandon Morse (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee) headed in a corner kick by sophomore Alen Jusic (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) for his fourth goal of the season.

Le Moyne outshot the Chargers 13-4 in the contest, including a 10-2 advantage in the opening 45 minutes, while each squad registered four corner kicks. Junior goalkeeper Steve White (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) registered two saves between the pipes to record his fifth shutout of the season. Jonathan Creem posted three saves in 79:15 for the Chargers, while Ryan O'Donoghue played the final 10:45 in net.

Le Moyne (9-2-2, NE-10 6-2-1), ranked 14th in the latest NSCAA/adidas national rankings, returns to action on Saturday at #5 Southern New Hampshire at 1:00 p.m.
