UMASS LOWELL MEN'S SOCCER BLANKS LE MOYNE 2-0

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Freshman goalkeeper Ryan Richards (Holden, Mass./Wachusett) made two saves as UMass Lowell dealt Le Moyne a 2-0 shutout in a Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer match at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The Riverhawks (5-2-4, 3-1-4 Northeast-10) are unbeaten in seven of eight league contests this season, while Le Moyne drops to 8-5-1 overall and 6-4-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

UMass Lowell jumped on the board 14 minutes and 11 seconds into the contest. Edens Chery (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) collected a header from Andrew Doherty (Malden, Mass./Malden Catholic) and kicked it home for the first goal of the match.

The Riverhawks made it a 2-0 lead in the 69^th minute. Matias Pietropinto (Leominster, Mass./Worcester Academy) converted a centering pass from Christian Figueroa (North Andover, Mass./North Andover).

UMass Lowell outshot its hosts 14-9, including a 7-2 advantage in shots on target. Redshirt freshman Steve White (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) made five saves for Le Moyne.

The Dolphins meet Dominican in a non-conference match on Tuesday.
