MATT PECHEONE SCORES LONE GOAL, LE MOYNE COMPLETES PERFECT HOMESTAND WITH 1-0 WIN OVER SAINT MICHAEL'S

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Sophomore Matt Pecheone (New Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford) scored in the second half and the Le Moyne defense did the rest as the Dolphins edged Saint Michael's 1-0 in a Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer match. With the victory, the Dolphins (7-3, 5-2 Northeast-10) complete a perfect four-game homestand. Saint Michael's drops to 6-2-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

After a scoreless first half, Pecheone headed home a cross from Rob Moskwa (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) 10 minutes and 51 seconds into the second session. Pecheone has scored a team-high eight goals this season for Le Moyne.

Le Moyne's defense did not allow the visitors to land a shot on target. The Dolphins outshot Saint Michael's 8-2, including a 3-0 advantage in shots on goal. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Steve White (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) was credited with his third shutout of the season, while Tim Williamson made two saves for Saint Michael's.

Le Moyne travels to Albany for a meeting with Saint Rose on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
