MEN'S SOCCER: LE MOYNE BLANKS STONEHILL 4-0, BRANDON OOT SCORES TWO GOALS
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Sophomore Brandon Oot (LaFayette, N.Y./Manlius Pebble Hill) scored two goals and Steve White (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) recorded his first career shutout as Le Moyne blanked Stonehill 4-0 in a Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer match at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The Dolphins (2-2, 1-1 Northeast-10), ranked 21st in the preseason NSCAA Division II poll, pick up their first conference win of the season, while Stonehill drops to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in league action.
Sophomore Matt Pecheone (New Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford) blasted home a goal from 20 yards out for the only goal of the opening half in the 38th minute. Abdulilah Al-Dubai (Syracuse, N.Y.) finished off a double assist from Ryan Cunnigham (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville) and Josh Harrison (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) to make it 2-0 early in the second half.
Oot, a transfer from St. John's (N.Y.), tacked on a pair of insurance goals midway through the final half. He touched home a corner kick from Eric Macias (Silver Spring, Md./Wheaton) and drilled in a pass from Ryan Vinciguerra (Syracuse, N.Y./Faith Heritage).
White, a redshirt freshman, needed to make just one save for his first shutout. The Dolphins outshot their guests 19-1 and held an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Le Moyne travels to Worcester, Mass. for a date with Assumption College on Wednesday.
