NO. 24 SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE BLANKS NO. 21 LE MOYNE 3-0

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Colin Jackson (Hartford, Conn./Wolmer's Boy's) scored one goal and assisted on another as No. 24 Southern Connecticut opened Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer action with a 3-0 win over No. 21 Le Moyne at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The Owls (2-0-1, 1-0 Northeast-10) scored three goals in the second half to upend the Dolphins (1-2, 0-1 Northeast-10).

Jackson converted a crossing pass from Michael DiBartolomeo (Wallingford, Conn./Lyman Hall) for the only goal the guests would need in the 64th minute. DJordie Jankovic added a goal in the 72nd minute and Anthony Fraioli (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) tacked on an insurance goal in the 90th minute.

Le Moyne had a pair of scoring opportunities early in the first half, but was outshot 16-4 for the match. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Steve White (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) made seven saves for Le Moyne, while Brendan Lawless stopped four shots for the Owls.

Le Moyne hosts Stonehill on Saturday at 1 p.m.
